My Saturday Thrifty finds

Good morning!
Last Saturday I got a chance to do a little thrifting.
(One of my favorite things to do!-Find Treasures!)
And this is what I go to come home with::
A very pretty vintage McCalls Needlework & crafts magazine.
The pages are just full of pretties! And such vintage goodness!

In the store I was flipping threw, and saw this adorable crocheted bunny!
Oh isn't he darling!?! I would love to make one!
I found these interesting stamp books, I think they were used to collect the stamps in. I thought I probably could use those in crafting, jewelry making, or something! :)
I was so excited when I found that little box (next to the McCalls mag, in the pic) hiding in a book shelf with old books. I get so excited when I see little boxes hiding! WHAT'S INSIDE! WHAT'S INSIDE!! I'm yelling in my mind....haha. Hopefully one day I don't accidentally yell out loud!  It was a stamper with all the original pieces inside!  It's one that you arrange each letter to say whatever you want.  I've actually been wanting one of these, I looked all around at Hobby Lobby and couldn't find one, so this was perfect!

And of course I found a cute little Easter pile of some cute things!

Oh aren't these kitty playing cards the sweetest too!! I thought they were so cute!
I found a couple more things, but they will have to wait for another post! :)

I did add a few things to my Etsy shop, including a few kitty cards :)

Hope you have wonderful day!

  1. Great finds! Did you do any research on those stamps? I bet they have a pretty interesting history! I also love the stamper. I feel the same way when I find old boxes at the thrift store ;)

    1. Thank you!! I think they were used for collecting and then you were able to exchange them/turn them in for a prize of some sort. Kind of like a rewards system :) I'm glad I'm not the only one when finding old boxes :) xx Hugs!

  2. Oh Holly! What adorable stuff you found! I love the vintage magazine. I hope you make the bunny, he's just too cute! The stamp books are interesting. I remember when I was little, mom would save some similar stamps from the grocery store and when she had enough, would trade them for some sort of prizes. The Easter supplies look so familiar :) and the kitty cards are just adorable! What great finds! Have a wonderful day, Holly

  6. Lot's of fun in that shopping trip. Those kitty cards look exactly like ones I had growing up...yikes am I old! It's fun coming to your blog, as you remind me of my gorgeous 25 year old daughter who's newly married (2010). She and her husband just moved into their second, much larger home, which is absolutely swoon worthy. She has the gourmet kitchen I've always wanted with miles and miles of granite counter space, double ovens, huge fridge, etc. You youngun's are so blessed these days.

    Hugs,
    Meri

  7. HOLLY! It just dawned on me that it was you who sent me the wonderful Easter papers! Oh My Gosh! You are just so sweet. Thank you so much. Might it be possible to have the pattern shared for the little crocheted Easter Bunny? I think it is so kitschy and doesn't look too hard to make(fingers crossed)! I must make you an Easter character! Your blog is always filled with such inspiring things, and I truly appreciate that. Elizabeth!
