Happy Tuesday!!
A few new vintage treasures came home with me recently, two darling quilts and two yellow suitcases. The suitcases are sooo clean and not the slightest smell of anything to them, I'm wondering if they were ever even used!
I just love, love old quilts!!
In this situation getting the both of them, I decided I would keep one and take one to my booth. So I decided to keep the one with little squares :) This wasn't an easy task of deciding! Isn't it so cute! I really wanted to use it for some projects, cutting and sewing it for new things......but now of course I'm having second thoughts! lol. It's so hard to cut them, they are just so beautifully worn. And I think of all that time someone took stitching it together. What would you do??? I think I'll enjoy for a little while.....
Here's the other that went to my booth ....
Such a pretty pattern and pretty fabrics!!
{Sorry the photos aren't the greatest, I had to photograph them inside, due to weather}
Thanks for stopping by!
Hope you all have a lovely week!!

There is nothing like a vintage quilt...washed to softness and sweetly faded. I can feel the presence of my grandmothers whenever I touch a faded old quilt. Lovely post, Holly.
ReplyDeleteGreat finds! I love old quilts - they are so soft and worn just right. I had blue suitcases just like those yellow ones when I was little. I just got back from visiting my daughter and we always go antiquing - something we love to do together. Have a lovely week!
ReplyDeleteI have a few of my grandmother's quilts in my craft room. They remind me of the two that you have acquired. What fun treasures.
ReplyDeleteVery pretty quilts. I wouldn't be able to cut into them. I have a few items I've bought with projects in mind and yet couldn't bring myself to cut them up. Lol
ReplyDeleteHi Holly!
ReplyDeleteYou lucky! Wonderful quilts. Pea green with envy.
I'm having a little GIVEAWAY for Halloween, so c'mon over. :)
Happy Week!
Oh yes, let it "visit" you for a while and then decide after your eyes are filled up with it. I NEVER find old quilts around here. Nice score!
ReplyDeleteOh Holly LOVE the quilts!! and you picked the best to keep!! I too buy them and can not cut them!! LOL That is why I use the pieces others have cut up!! ReplyDeleteVery sweet quilts and cute suitcases!!! Always so fun to have!! Have a lovely day!! xo Heather
ReplyDeleteThey are both gorgeous! It was hard for me to cut my old quilt but I'm glad I did now. I have so many ideas for the rest of it and I'm loving my teddy bear. Halloweeney hugs to you, too!
ReplyDeleteYes those are beautiful quilts. I always think of the many hours it took someone to make it and the people that it warmed over the years. I love to look at all the different vintage fabrics in it. Even if the quilt is worn it can still be pretty to display. Great find!
